Located in Alford Forest, Mid Canterbury, Mt Hutt Helicopters are proud to be dedicated partners in the farming community by offering many agricultural helicopter services. Our team is highly experienced in this area to provide a knowledgeable and efficient service in response to client needs.
Our pilots have vast experience in agricultural, commercial and high altitude operations, in precision flying, and operating in high workload environments. We also retain a solid culture of operational safety and pride ourselves on ten years of accident free flying.

We operate a Hughes 500D helicopter which has a full kit of support equipment to fulfill all agricultural work. Our Company motto is 'Setting the Standard' and this is also applicable to the specialist gear developed for our agricultural operations. A preventative maintenance system is implemented for all gear to ensure its productivity.
Ground support
 As well as the helicopters and equipment we also provide a full supportive ground crew to ensure each job is completed efficiently. Our staff have a great experience in farming and agricultural work so provide a good asset to any job. All ground staff have been trained in the use and correct handling of all chemicals and machinery.

GPS Technology
The helicopter is fitted with Satloc DGPS systems which allows the pilot to deliver a quality operation by displaying exact location and flight paths. This data is also used as a quality assurance program, often required by clients. Aerial spraying of gorse, broom and the control of matagouri brush weed is a common request, which allows the containment of noxious weeds and the development of land. We have proven experience in the innovative application of chemicals and providing customers with impartial advice about the most effective chemicals to suit their needs.
Areas of work
Although we are based in Canterbury we also carry out our work on the West Coast, as far south as Wanaka and as far North as Banks Peninsula and the Waimakariri Gorge. It's a good idea to book us early for aerial spraying work so we can schedule it in with other jobs in your area to save money.
